The “Texas State to Tuscany” program is a six credit field school being offered at the undergraduate, masters, and PhD level by Texas State University’s Study Abroad Office in collaboration with Castello Sonnino and led by Dr. Colleen C. Hiner. The course, first offered in June 2016, will be offered next in 2018. Topics covered in the courses are the Geography of Food and Agriculture and Rural Sustainability. The program is designed to be hands-on and experiential; each week there are multiple tours, tastings, excursions, and workshops.
